Using andersonsgrain.com

This website is designed and tested for WindowsXP and MacOS 10.x, and for Internet Explorer (IE) 7.0 and newer, FireFox 3.0 and Safari 4.x. If you have any problems logging on to GRAINweb® or accessing your account information, please call Martin Rossol at 419.891.6303.

If you have not previously used GRAINweb®, click here to request a username/password or call your Account Rep. and they will initiate a process to activate your account.  Our goal is to have your account activated the same business day, but it could take up to 24 hours because some of the content of GRAINweb is updated only on a nightly basis.  You will get an email confirming your account has been setup.  Once you have a USERNAME and PASSWORD, you can login to your account by clicking the "login" tab at the top right. Once you have logged in, you can view your account activity by hovering over the GRAINweb® menu (yellow menu bar) and selecting either "CropYear", "Open", or "Sales".

We will now step through each selection or screen and provide an overview of the content available on each.

1.  Crop Year

CropYear Image

The Crop Year link will provide you with a view of your account information filtered by crop-year dates.  For Corn and Soybeans we define the crop-year as activity that has a date between September 1 and August 31 the following year.  It would be from the earliest time harvest might begin though the following year of deliveries, pricings, etc.  For Wheat and Oats we define the crop-year as activity with a dates starting June 1 through May 31 the following year.

To change the Crop Year you want to veiw, select it from the drop-down box at the upper-right of the view. The Crop Year defaults to the Crop Year where most customers are focusing attention, but if you choose to change it, it will stay at your selection until it is changed again or until you logon again.  We provide some information for prior years, but if you need detail information for more than two years ago you will need to call your Account Rep.

Production: This number reflects our estimate of your production, by commodity. Some customers do not like to provide us with that number, and we respect that. Yet we believe that having at least a rough idea of your product allows our Reps to give you better advice or guidance relative to selling or pricing decisions, and so we enter our estimate for most of our producer customers.

Contracts: This number reflects the OPEN BALANCE on the contracts you have committed to The Andersons for the specifed Crop Year being displayed.  (It does not reflect the bushels that are priced.)  If you click on the number, you will see a new window (some browsers might display this in a new "tab") of all the contracts whether or not they have an open balance or have had bushels applied. From that window you can continue to drill-down into details of each contract.  Even if the number is "0", if you had any grain contracted to The Andersons you can see a summary of those contracts by clicking on the "zero".

Orders:  This number reflects the bushels of OPEN ORDERS that your Account Rep at The Andersons is watching for you.  Click on the number to see the details. (Once an "Open Order" is filled, cancelled or expired, it will not appear on GRAINweb®.)

Reserve:  If you have DP or Storage Reservations (you have agreed on a DP or Storage rate) see the details of each Reservation by clicking on the number.

Tickets: This number indicates the number of bushels that you have delivered to/thru The Andersons which have been applied or settled.  You can see all the ticket details by clicking on the number.  (For tickets delivered the prior day or earlier during the current day and not yet settled or applied, check for the red hyperlink in the header bar of the display you see when you click either the Crop Year or Open menu selection.)

SubTabs:  If you manage a number of accounts yourself (maybe for your wife, children, landlords, etc.), the “Summary” and “By Crop” subtabs would provide additional information based on different categories. (Please check with your Account Rep for more information about viewing multiple accounts using a single USERNAME.)

2.   OPEN

Image of OPEN screen

The "OPEN" menu is a view of your account that essentially provides you a look at all “open” activity – irrespective of the Crop Year of delivery.  The categories include: DP(delayed price; deferred price) tickets; Storage tickets; Hold Pay tickets; Deferred Cash; Early Delivery; Contracts with open balances; Open Orders; Open DP/Storage Reservations.

DP: The DP stands for Delayed Price, Deferred Price or Price Later, and this column represents the “Open” or unpriced bushels that you have in DP.  The “ # “ column indicates the number of loads. Clicking on either of these numbers will take you to the same detail page which provide information of your DP loads.

STG:  This operates the same as DP, only reflects the bushels and tickets that are in “Open Storage”.  (We do not have on-line information about pre-paid ware-house receipts.)

HP$:  Represents dollars, bushels and tickets that you have delivered, are priced and settled, but the cash is in The Andersons Hold Pay program.

Def$:  Represents “Deferred Cash” dollars, bushels and tickets.  If your settlement frequency is Weekly or On-Demand, grain that you have delivered that has been processed, applied, and/or settled would be in this column if we have not yet sent you a check.  GRAINweb® allows you to see how much cash is available to you before you get a settlement and check.

ED:  Represents “Early Delivery” and is not used very often.  "Early Delivery" comes into play if you make arrangements to delivery “early” on a contract.  The Andersons might allow you to do this, but in most cases you would agree not to receive payment until the pre-set delivery period.  Detailed information about the dollars and bushels that are "delivered early" would be under ED columns.

Contracts: This number reflects the OPEN BALANCE on the contracts you have sold to The Andersons for any Crop Year.  (It does not reflect the bushels that are priced.)  If you click on the underlined number (some broswers might display this in a new "tab"), you will see a new window of all the contracts whether or not they have an open balance or have had bushels applied, but that are NOT FULLY SETTLED - for any number of reasons.  From that window you can continue to drill-down into details of each contract.  If the number is "zero" it means that you do not have any open cash grain delivery contract obligations to The Andersons.

Orders:  These two columns represent the bushels and number of "Open Orders" The Andersons is watching for you. (call your Account Rep. for more information or if you have questions.)

Resv:  These columns indicate the bushels you have committed to deliver and have an agreed upon DP or Storage rate.

*Delivery Tickets*

(not available from this menu selection, but is from within the Crop Year or Open views)

Image of Delivery Ticket link
Clicking here shows you information about truck delivery tickets that have not yet been processed by our accounting system. The information comes from our automated scale interface and usually represents the loads you hauled or delivered the prior day, or it is updated hourly during the day with tickets delivered today. The information is unaudited, and may not represent the final disposition of the ticket after processing. Tickets delivered to non-Andersons locations are not available in this view.

3.   Sales

This section provides information for customers who buy from The Andersons (our “Sales” to you). There are four (4) primary views:

All Sales Contracts. Contains all of our grain sale contracts to this account for the past crop-year and forward.

Open Sales Contracts. Lists all of our grain sale contracts to this account that have an open bushel balance. Most will be for contracts that have not loaded or shipped.

Invoices. Displays posted, open invoices this account has with The Andersons, Inc. and can be for more than just your grain purchases. For example, it may include invoices for fertilizer purchases from our Plant Nutrient Group. (This list is not guaranteed to be complete. Please check with your account rep.)

Credit Summary. A summary of this accounts credit status and history. Information in this view comes from several sources. The updating of the different sources varies so the timeliness of the information may vary 24-36 hours. If you have a question please call your grain Account Rep. or other sales representative.

Additional Features and Information

Customer Position Report

We regret that we are not able to provide your summary Customer Position Report (CPR) like we have in the past. We are working on some possible solutions. Please contact your Account Rep. if you would like a copy of this CPR and they will be able to email it to you.

Exporting to Excel

You can export many of the views or lists of your activity to file that Excel can read. You will see a small "Excel" like icon in the upper-right corner of the view. If you click that link, you will be asked to open or save the file. We recommend that you "Open" it, then "Save as Excel" (do not simply "Save" - this will save the file as HTML).

Browsers

It is our goal to provide account access on a reasonable number of browsers and PCs.  We attempt to ensure that GRAINweb® is functional with leading browsers in use, or for the browsers that customers are using.  We are fairly confident that GRAINweb® will be functional on Internet Explorer 7.x and newer, FireFox 3.x and newer, Netscape 8.x, and Safari 3.x. If you run into a problem that you think is related to your browser, please call Joel at 419.891.6567, or email grainweb@andersonsinc.com and let us know what about the problem.  While we cannot promise a solution we will certainly to take a look at it and see if we can help.

We have optimized the display of this website for 17" monitors (or larger) and a resolution of 1024 x 786 pixels. The display is best when viewed with a TEXT SIZE of MEDIUM or SMALLER.  If the text size is too large, columns will not expand to account for the larger text; text wrapping may occur and readability will be poor.

Many screens have a blue "footer bar" with a time and date. The time is CDT and indicates when the database was last refreshed.

Security

Your account information will only become available to you after you register on the site and ask for access to it, either using the automated sign-up function or calling your Account Rep. and asking them to initiate the process. We have done all we can to make this site as secure as possible. Your connection will “time-out” if there is no activity by the user in about 15 minutes, but if you access GRAINweb® from a “public” computer, please make sure you click the Login link (top-right corner of the screen) and then click the "Logout" button. This will close access to your account no matter if someone else uses that computer to access the Internet after you. Your browser must also have the "Cookies" funtionality enabled for GRAINweb® to be available through that browser.

Need additional help?

If there is anything that you still do not understand about your account information as it is displayed by GRAINweb®, please contact your Account Rep or call 419.891.6567 and ask for Joel Rossol. We want to provide the level of help you need to make use of this website.  We would also be pleased to get your input about GRAINweb®.  Email grainweb@andersonsinc.com to provide your comments, questions, suggestions.
